WWW User Guidelines


The School of Commerce and Law computer facilities and networks are available for the exclusive use of registered students and staff of the University. Users have a responsibility to be familiar with these guidelines, and to abide by the regulations following:-

All information services on the University network are for educational use, and may not be used for commercial or other unauthorized purposes. The use of the University computers, the application software, the local network and the Internet is for course-work and support. Communication via the Internet is only available for authorised users with accounts.

The School of Commerce and Law does not guarantee that the functioning of the system will be error free or uninterrupted. The University cannot take any responsibility for files not protected through normal procedures.

Food and beverages are not permitted in the computing laboratories.

The School of Commerce and Law reserves the right to withdraw access to the facilities or network from any user.

Privileges will be revoked for misuse of the system, including the altering of system software, the placing of unlawful information, computer viruses or harmful programs on or through the computer system in either public or private files.

Illegal activities such as copyright breaches or unauthorized access to other computers are capable of prosecution under existing legislation.

The University reserves all rights to any material stored in files and will remove any harmful, unlawful, abusive or objectionable material.

Abuse of facilities must be immediately reported as instigating, aiding or abetting misuse is equally unlawful.
